Well-Child Visits

Annual well-child checks are more than just routine doctor appointments; they are foundational to ensuring your child is healthy, happy, and on a positive trajectory into adulthood. These regular visits are crucial touchpoints in monitoring a child's growth and development, and they foster a proactive approach that allows for timely interventions.

Well-child visits are also instrumental in establishing a strong, trusting relationship between the pediatrician, the child, and the family. What To Expect At New Beginnings Pediatrics

At each well-child visit, our New Beginnings Pediatrics team will collect key metrics to track your child's growth and development. First, we will perform a physical examination, checking everything from head to toe to ensure your child's physical development is on track. This exam includes measuring their height, weight, and blood pressure.

Then, we'll check your child's vision and hearing to make sure they aren't having any issues that could get in the way of their ability to play, learn, and grow. During their eye test, they'll be asked to read letters from a chart, and for their hearing test, they'll wear headphones while sounds are played at different volumes. We may also recommend laboratory screenings, such as blood or urine tests, to assess your child's overall health.

In addition to our well-child visits, we offer a range of other services to support your child's health and development:

  • Same-Day Sick Child Visits: We understand that illness can strike at any time, so we offer same-day appointments to provide prompt medical attention when needed.
  • Immunizations: We follow the CDC’s recommended pediatric immunization schedule to protect your child from serious and life-threatening diseases. Our experienced team will make sure your child receives all necessary vaccinations at the appropriate ages.
  • Infant Care & Breastfeeding Support: Our pediatricians provide comprehensive care for infants, including support and guidance for breastfeeding mothers.
  • Sports Physicals:  As part of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, we offer sports physicals to ensure your child is fit to participate in their favorite activities.
  • Development & Learning Disability Services: If you or your child's pediatrician have concerns about your child's development or learning, we can conduct evaluations and provide appropriate interventions to help your child reach their full potential.
  • Mental Health Services: We understand the importance of mental health in a child's overall well-being. Our team offers mental health screenings and referrals to support your child's emotional and behavioral health.
